My Culinary Experience

I have always wanted to become a cook because I am passionate about food and the way food can be cooked and prepared. The skills and abilities I can provide that would make me successful as a cook:

Personal Commercial
I can always remember my passion for cooking and baking. I have fond memories of helping my mother in the kitchen preparing meals and baking pies when I was young. Wanting to know what was used in each recipe that she prepared.
As I got older I started to take my mother’s recipes and change them up to create a different version of the dish. When I had friends over they would help me make soft pretzels and I would occasionally bake pies for them.
My part time jobs were in the food industry. From frontline at the Atlantic Superstore to Tim Horton’s. I even worked with a chef part time helping with cooking classes and parties.
I knew that I wanted to continue in this field. I am currently enrolled in the 2 year culinary program at NSCC Akerly Campus and working for my co-op at The Canvas Restro Lounge.
My goal when I graduate is to continue my apprenticeship and to get my Red Seal and to one day become a Head Chef, Chef de Partie or Executive Chef.
Aspirations and career goals
I do not have huge goals in the culinary field, only to become a cook that their food will make people happy. Being able to cook for people and see them being satisfied be my work is the only goal I have and is the most important thing for me. Food makes people happy, great food makes people even happier and that's what I want to do. Hearing feedback from the customers on my dishes being amazing or tasty and them being satisfied is the best goal I could ever want to achieve in this field.
One other goal is that I'm hoping to travel and go to different restaurants around the world and learn different methods and different styles of cooking.
